Ingredients

Adjust quantities

Only numeric quantities at the start of an ingredient are adjusted. Descriptive quantities, seasoning to taste and timings remain unchanged; check them when changing servings.

Preparation

  1. 1

Bring a large pot of water with bay leaf to a boil. Add octopus and simmer 40-60 minutes, depending on size, until a skewer enters easily.

  2. 2

Meanwhile, boil the whole potatoes separately for 25-35 minutes until tender.

  3. 3

Rest octopus in its water for 10 minutes, drain and slice the tentacles.

  4. 4

Peel and slice potatoes. Arrange octopus on top and finish with paprika, coarse salt and oil.

Cooking tips

  • Timing depends on size; check tenderness with a skewer before removing.
